TroveStack Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 17, 2026TroveStack is built to be a private personal library. There is no public profile, no social feed, and no required username, email, or password. Your saved content stays on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information TroveStack (operated by Rathmacknee Labs LLC, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using TroveStack, you agree to the practices described in this policy.---1. Who We AreTroveStack is a mobile application developed and operated by Rathmacknee Labs LLC, a U.S.-based software company. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at:- Email: [email protected]---2. High-Level Privacy PrinciplesTroveStack is designed around a few non-negotiable principles:- No accounts required. You can use TroveStack without creating an account, logging in, or providing your name, email address, or phone number.- Your library stays on your device. Your saved content (photos, screenshots, videos, links, notes, titles, tags, categories) is stored locally on your device. We do not upload this content to our own servers.- Thin Cloud is “settings only.” Our “Thin Cloud” system only downloads small configuration files (rules and feature flags) to keep the app running smoothly. It does not upload your content.- Anonymous usage counts only. When telemetry is enabled, the app may send anonymous, count-level usage metrics. These metrics never include your actual content (like your photos, notes, or tag text).- No advertising SDKs or behavioral ad tracking. TroveStack does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not track you across other apps or websites for advertising purposes.- No cross-app tracking or device fingerprinting. We do not use IDFA, fingerprinting, or similar techniques to track you across third-party apps or websites.---3. Information We Do Not CollectWe do not require or intentionally collect:- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Your contacts or precise location
- The contents of your saved items on our servers (including titles, notes, tags, URLs, and media files)
We also do not:- Create a public profile for you
- Provide a social feed
- Track you across third-party apps and websites for advertising
---4. Information We Process4.1 On-Device Library ContentWhen you save photos, screenshots, videos, links, or notes, this information is stored locally on your device. We do not receive this content on our own servers. If you choose to back up your device (for example, via iCloud backup), that process is governed by your device and OS settings, not by TroveStack directly.4.2 Thin Cloud Configuration (“Rules”)To adjust non-content settings (like feature flags, limits, or experiments) without shipping a new app update, the app periodically downloads small configuration files (rules).- What is transmitted: A standard HTTPS request from your device to download configuration files from our hosting provider.- Privacy: No user content or identifiers are required for these requests. Typical network metadata (such as IP address and user agent) may be handled by the hosting provider during the request as part of normal operations, but we do not store or log these IP addresses on our own systems.4.3 Anonymous Usage Analytics (Telemetry)To understand usage patterns, prioritize bug fixes, and improve the app, we may send anonymous, count-level usage metrics once per day when telemetry is enabled.- Anonymous install identifier (anoninstallid):
- A random UUID string generated on first launch for that install of the app.
- It is a stable, per-install identifier (reset if you delete and reinstall the app).
- Not derived from any device identifiers (no IDFA, no fingerprinting).
- Not used to track you across third-party apps or websites.
- Not linked to your name, email, or any other direct personal identity.
- What we send (examples):
- Aggregated counts and simple metrics, such as:
- “Total items in library: 4–10”
- “Number of items added today from the share sheet”
- “Number of reviews completed today”
- Aggregate counts of how many items were liked or marked “less often”
- What we do not send:
- No photos, videos, or image contents
- No titles, notes, or tag text
- No full URLs or query strings
- No usernames, account IDs, or free-form text from your library
Telemetry is focused on counts and buckets, not the content itself.4.4 Telemetry Opt-OutTelemetry is opt-out via a toggle in the app Settings.- When telemetry is enabled, anonymous, count-level metrics may be sent once per day.
- When telemetry is turned off, no new daily rollups are generated or sent.
---5. Future FeaturesWe may introduce new features in future versions of TroveStack, such as:- In-app purchases or subscriptions (for example, a Pro tier)If we do:- We will use Apple’s StoreKit framework and rely on Apple’s infrastructure to process transactions.
- We will not introduce account systems, cloud storage of your content, or new tracking behaviors without updating this policy and providing in-app disclosures where appropriate.
---6. How We Use the Information We CollectWe use the information described above to:- Maintain correct limits, feature flags, and configuration (via Thin Cloud).
- Understand aggregate usage patterns (for example, how many items users typically save or how often daily review is used).
- Monitor engagement to inform product decisions and feature development.
- Maintain security and reliability, including detecting and diagnosing technical issues.
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, nor do we sell your personal data.---7. Data Retention- On-device content: Stored on your device until you delete items or uninstall the app. If you back up your device, retention is governed by your backup settings.- Telemetry data: Retained by our analytics provider for a limited period needed to analyze trends (for example, to compare usage over time). We do not attempt to link this data to an identified person. We may retain anonymized or aggregated statistics (which cannot reasonably be linked to an individual device) for longer periods to understand long-term usage patterns.---8. How We Share InformationWe do not sell your data.We may share data only with:- Analytics and hosting providers: To receive telemetry or host configuration files. These providers are contractually limited to using data only to provide their services to us and not for their own marketing or profiling.- Legal and safety: If reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws, respond to valid requests from law enforcement, or protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, partners, or the public. In all cases, we limit what is shared to the minimum necessary.---9. Children’s PrivacyTroveStack is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] so we can take appropriate action.---10. International UsersOur service providers and infrastructure may process anonymous telemetry data (if enabled) in countries other than your own.Where required by applicable law, we take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers (for example, using providers that implement recognized data protection mechanisms).Because we do not maintain user accounts or store personal identifiers, most processing is limited to anonymous or aggregate information.---11. Your Rights & ChoicesYou have several important controls over your data in TroveStack:- Control telemetry: Enable or disable anonymous usage counts via the in-app Settings toggle.- Control your library: Add, edit, or delete your items (photos, screenshots, links, notes, tags, categories) at any time. Uninstall the app to remove all local app data from your device (subject to your OS backup settings).- Regional rights: If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or certain U.S. states, you may have rights such as access, deletion, or objection to certain processing. Because we do not store personal identifiers or accounts on our servers, our ability to identify you in telemetry data is limited. In practice, many rights will be exercised via your device (for example, deleting items or uninstalling the app). You can contact us at [email protected] with any questions or requests, and we will do our best to respond consistent with applicable law.---12. SecurityWe take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data processed through TroveStack, including:- Designing the app so your library content is stored locally on your device rather than in a central content database we control
- Verifying signatures for Thin Cloud configuration files before applying them
- Using anonymous, per-install identifiers rather than names, emails, or device IDs in telemetry
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we aim to minimize the amount and sensitivity of data we process in the first place.---13. Changes to This PolicyWe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves or as laws and platform requirements change. When we make material changes, we will:- Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page; and
- Where appropriate, notify you in the app (for example, via an in-app message or notice in Settings).
If we introduce new data collection or sharing practices (for example, optional cloud sync), we will describe them clearly in this policy and, where required, seek your consent.---14. Contact UsIf you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or TroveStack’s privacy practices, you can contact us at:- Email: [email protected]We will do our best to respond promptly and address any concerns you may have.
